Ganpati Bappa...

Its post Shravan, and festive season begins again...
though the world is not same as before especially after being stuck in various responsibilities... these events certainly giving some breather... to rest and relax and enjoy the world around... It certainly gives added importance and that N'joyment value on occassions like Independence Day (this time also it was on 15th August, i wonder) DahiHandi, Panchami, Pola etc... when u put aside some time, some plans specifically for them... inviting friends and relatives, get-to-gethers and freaking out... music, lots of traditional food... and what not. no worry, no time-pass wasting on that dumb keyboards and those white boards and in those conference halls and on those conference calls...

Now its Ganpati Bappa time...
For me Ganpati used to be domestic (in my home) and then social Ganpati (neighbourhood Mandal )...
then Ganpati became hostelite to slowly turn towards socialite (in the form of Dagdusheth and other Manache penta Ganpatis exhibiting its genuine aura of fame and glory...
Now it has again become less social in terms of number but faithwise more gregarious... literally taking Social Ganpati (of our society). Having been with this form of Ganpati for the third time in my life shud say the experience just getting better by every passing year...
don't we just love being the part of those 5 day events and activities which otherwise are too meager, too ordinary, too unimportant to pay attention to and we generally shrug off as same old tiny-miny girly things... Rangoli, Chitra-kala, Katha Vachan spardha (especially if u know nothing abt it and even then u r made to judge the talent of those small angels), then it takes some elderly pattern in the form of discussing social issues and torning them apart to the extent that those issues themselves seem to come out and say "leave us alone...", old folks story-telling and telling their experiences of life with some fake, some exaggerated deeds... purush virahit natya prayog, only male natya prayog, only insane_kids_in_the_block_like_us natya prayog, Antakshari that slowly turns out to Antarakashari... etc etc... those morning and evening chants and aarti, those Morya re bappa morya re aaroLya, those COEeeeeeeeeeeeP- COEP ishtyle Ganpateeeeeeeeeeeee-Ganpati ;-) all for sure brings that old sheer cheer to the life...

Morya....
