G+ not Plus, rather old G in new bottle!

G+ so far - me no likey...

So, let's take a look, what's new in G+ ? virtually nothing... everything was already there and they have just brought that all together...

• Hangouts = gtalk's vdo chat extended to a grp, i would prefer FB's slick and simple 1-to-1 vdo chat...
• Sparks = there was already a google reader? and the rss feed sources it choses itself - pretty bad, those are not what i want to refer to... for e.g. it gives news about technology and cricket from sources I am not at all interested in and they are quite outdated... :(
• Photo sharing = picasa
• Video sharing = youtube, every website on the earth have embedded vdo sharing capability including youtube itself...
• Circles = copied from My 7 Circles of myvishwa.com ? not sure why should i create circles myself, and what are those really for... chat / sharing stuff ? but then i can't manage friends in a circle that well... i have created some circles and grouped friends as i think they should be grouped in... then while doing hangouts or sharing some stuff i don't want to chat or share some things with everybody in the group rather with just a few in that circle, then there is some stuff i would want to chat or share with just a few other in the same circle ... so circles are virtually useless for me.... all in all circle management is pretty confusing... real life circles are dynamic how do i mimic those in here? not working for me...
• no marketplace yet, no apps, no games, no sdk/dev tools...?

So, all in all i think google had lot of stuff lying around and they just brought them on same page and tried to call it social networking platform... i know it's still in preview phase and things will improve and it will only add some more features from google's secret treasure like Google Disco, Places, Shopping, Travel (integrated with ITA) etc... but so far not what i was expecting...

Orkut is far better than google+ it is more about friends and sharing between them and Google+ is trying to chew more than it can swallow...

It's damn addictive... It's hit, it involves intellect, it is entertaining, it's socializing, it's intuitive, it's productive, it's mathematical, it's strategical, it involves input and output, it's inspiring, gives farmers a sense of achievement and they feel doing something worthwhile, it's a pleasantville.... :)

Another year passing by....
Resolution? Ok, this time for sure... seriously... :)

time to also look back at the decade that's passing by... two religions followed by most people in the land where i come from makes it to the top of my list to start with... Movies and Cricket...

Taking a cue from popular newspaper like this surprisingly the person who skips most accolades most of the time takes the cake...

Cricket-wise, I guess Sachin and Australia would top the list again... this year and this decade... the later looking to lose the gloss a bit... and both looking to pass the baton to others in the coming years...

15th Aug coming... let's get together...

Guys and gals... know what... here's another chance to meet again and have a blast... milte hain yaar... whose place this time??? who brings what??? I will get my DVDs and someone get food, desserts, poker set etc... and please no drinks... because... 15th August approacheth... ;) we are actually meeting to celebrate this occassion... isn't it cool idea? we should do it man! tell ya we will rock the floor :)
And guess what we'r gonna have? what we used to call it??? yeah... India's National pledge... I have already downloaded it and made copies for all... Here's it for those who want to shout it aloud without dipping head in the paper...

Is India my country? (i hope...), all Indians outside India are my real brothers and sisters (those in india are distant cousins)... i love my country (?) (but I doubt if) I am proud of it's rich(?) and varied heritage (I see it on NDTV and AajTak on 15th Aug and 26th Jan..)
I shall (always be) striv(ing) to be worthy of it ( and so many things at the same time). (Atleast) I shall love all parents, remember my teachers, and feel sorry about elders... I have to respect and treat everyone with courtesy (after all it's a law)... (but for some reason) To my country and thy people, i pledge my devotion... (before rest all) in my well being and prosperity alone lies their happiness...

Some facts...
SRK is lucky mascot:

• He has brought 3 cheers to IPL.... Indian cricket was in deep trouble, he attended 20-20 finals and we won (Hurray!) and we all forgot ODI world cup agony...
• Yash raj films can make films w/o SRK and still hit the jackpot, right? Wrong! Ta Ra Rum Pum, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Laga Chunari me Daag, Aaja Nachle, Tashan... Only saving grace... Chak De! oops that was SRK's!
• Priety Zinta debuted in his movie and she has become a big big star now... Kajol was considered ugly duckling in the Mukharjee family until she paired with SRK in Baazigar, then Karan-Arjun, then DDLJ, then KKHH then list goes on.... We all thought this girl, Rani, has perhaps sore throat till she died as Mrs. SRK in KKHH... (tum nahi samjhoge, rahul...), Ask Aaditya Chopra the feeling of starting a directorial career with someone like Mr. SRK in a lead role... he won't stop praising for at least 520 weeks...

etc etc etc... his overall impact on current state of affairs make us feel like SRK is bigger than any other star...
But But But...
Here's another part of the equation...
If SRK is a King and SRK licks Aamir's feet and begs for biscuits... no prize to show how good you are at the theory of transitivity...
Indeed it was a nice joke if at all it was... but from the things of it looks like pretty serious affair... Not sure 20-30 years down the line who would be the real king (my bet is on SRK again since it's a glamour world after all and all that glitters here is 24 Karats Gold)... and who would be lost in oblivion... (my bet is AK, since he seems to be a good guy, and it's a bad bad world... my sympathies already... and proof of this theory lies in his blog itself which i bet was the last one... a good budding blogging career crushed by his own hands, errr, own words... yet another example of power of blogging and the responsibility it asks for...)

This time I was surprised to surprise myself this way!
Was it an accidental tresppassing or a co-incidental discovery, just about when the dark empire has started opening its doors to the world outside. Not sure, as always, but the fun part was I was loving to get lost in this meshy and vast territory with little LAMP in my hand ;) The kingdom, where everybody's a king! The sneak in could very easily turn into that drowning into dark, deeper, unknown waters... or who knows, could end up discovering the new world of it's kind with little mermaids and mermen living happily in perfect harmony with the nature and each other....

the weekend passtime turned into a surpsirse exploration of the open source world and its coming along nice:
a small search algo to pull data from my server and display it (in nice format)
and adding more data to the site, can easily let me customize it.
