A Red-Letter (Birth)day that was...

It was a nice, long, hectic but exciting birthday and after many years some sensible day i had on my birthday this year.
In such a monotonus normal life in which we seldom get a reason to celebrate, we are looking for some adventure a reason "in real sense" that makes you scream out of joy from the terrace of ur building, a moment when your joy is at the apex of emotional and platonic excitement... And i guess we all get a fair share of it, time and often: when we come first time first in the KG class of 40 hard fighting antagonists, when we get a pat on back for merely finding the keys kept on a table which all other elders can hardly find, when we fight off the stiff resistance of other stronger athletes and get a place in sports team, when we bring medals and recognition to our class, school in various competitions, when we get started reconizing as a flutist or quiz wizard, when we appear in the merit list, when we exchange slam books and chocolates while parting, when we get-to-gether with old friends, when we get our first job and then when we get our first salary, first promotion, first friend whom you can no more say a friend then etc, etc...
But what about birthdays, Nah!
Birthdays i had been thinking was one of those nonsensical rationalizations that we reach onto to, to fool ourselves, to foolishly convince us about that single reason to celebrate for no reason, to make ourselves that fitting block in the whole system of worldly matters that somehow brings us some material sense of acheivement.

But not this time, i decided, not to get overjoyed for no reason for this is not what is supposed to cheer about, or is it? May be for the only reason that it brings that smile again on the face of my near and dear ones who might have had similar on my first 23rd August, and now my friends who get more than enough reasons to wish me and celebrate. And in a sense that in fact adds up to a some matter of fact rationalizations, we have to keep and thats no fooling ourselves...

Pretty heavy, nah? but this was just taking some stocks of life on this given occasion, wud write more later...

So here it was how the day went:
a day before B'day got out off office a bit earlier, to the The Pyramids : shopping_like_crazy with friends till 11:00 p.m. the shopkeeper happily obliged to extend his day...
Dinner party at The Mainland China (some sensible this time, so no B'day bumps :-) then and there), nice and surprising gift_dish and music from the hotel staff at the midnight stroke. some silent :-) and invisible tears running down the cheeks, mixed emotions of joy and missing_memories...
OK, some dance in the rains and on the roads,
party time at home, calls...
got up a bit later (7:00) than usual, wore formals first time this year, some temple-temple, some won't_tell secret things, then again greeting calls from all directions, some office work, meetings friends, shopping again, Mumbai trip to see off a friend, playing 95.5 FM, Antakshari sort of from the originals collection os of KKV, Sandy & company , Gulzaar's Fursat ke pal non stop on return journey, photo session thru-out, tyre bursting on the Exrpessway, dinner at the Food Mall...

Also now its time to review the year that was on professional, financial, personal, and social etc. etc. fronts...
Not a splendid or an extra-ordinary day in any sense but that's for what it is sure going to go in my catalogue as journe qui fait date...
